The World Health Organisation is on track to establish a legally-binding treaty to strengthen global defences against pandemics as scientists continue to investigate the risk of the Omicron variant.
A negotiating body will begin talks over the international agreement in March next year and is expected to be completed by May 2024.
The Director-General claims it's "a once-in-a-generation opportunity" to strengthen global health security.
