A basic overview is given which introduces the overall function of eyepieces, build quality, price ranges, barrel sizes, etc.
More detailed information is given about the role of eyepieces in magnification, including discussion of the formula for calculating magnification, the proper use of high and low levels of magnification, and a discussion of maximum useful magnification for telescopes.
A brief discussion of eyepiece field of view is given.
Eye relief is defined and discussed and a suggestion is given for a minimum amount of eye relief, especially for those who must wear eyeglasses when
viewing through a telescope.
Exit pupil is discussed, including presentation of the formula for calculating eye pupil for different telescope/eyepiece combinations.
The advantages of zoom eyepieces are discussed.
