Disciple Janaka went to the Master Ashtavakra for Spiritual Instructions and said to him, O Master How can I know myself? How can the liberation from this body mind complex be attained? Ashtavakra then replied, if you wish to know yourself as you truly are, then discard all those things which increase your identification with body and mind as poison, if you want to know your Divine Infinite Nature then discard all those things right away which affirm in you the feeling that you are the body, you are the mind. Janaka did what his Master asked him to do and finally realized his true nature. When he came to realize his true nature beyond this body mind complex, he said to him,

नाहं देहो न मे देहो बोधोऽहमिति निश्चयी।
कैवल्यमिव संप्राप्तो न स्मरत्यकृतं कृतम्॥

O Master I've come to realize that I am not the body, nor is the body mine. I am the One Infinite Consciousness pervading the entire cosmos. In the whole universe I alone am.
