The main activity area of the plant is overhauling and modernising Su-22, Su-25, Su-27, Su-30, MiG-29, An-2 aircraft and Mi-8 (Mi-17) and Mi-24 (Mi-35). 558 ARP JSC performs the complete repair cycle of airframes and all components, complex upgrading of aircraft, and takes extra preventive measures to boost their reliability.
The key goals of an upgrade programme like this are to raise the aircraft’s effectiveness in the destruction of ground, sea and air targets, expand its capabilities of conducting highly intensive combat operations in any time and weather, as well as broaden the range of its combat missions. This is achieved by using modern satellite navigation aids, new navigation modes and brand new software for navigation target acquisition system.
